T-MARC Tanzania is a non-profit Tanzanian organization working to improve public health and promote social development. Our socially marketed products and behaviour change communication initiatives address pertinent health issues in family planning and reproductive health, child survival, water and sanitation, nutrition and communicable/non-communicable infections like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and cervical cancer.
T-MARC has received a grant from Comic Relief for the project titled “Badilisha Tabia, Tokomeza Malaria (Change Behavior, Eradicate Malaria)” for two years. The Project The project will use a mix of SBCC approaches (IPC, Community Mobilization, Community Media etc.) to engage communities on malaria prevention and treatment towards positive health-seeking behaviours among pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under 5 in Shinyanga and Simiyu regions. In line with the Malaria National Strategic Plan (MNSP) 2014-2020, the goal of this project is to contribute to the national goal of reducing the country’s malaria prevalence from 7.3% in 2017 to < 1% in 2020.
